Among the latest trends on video-sharing sites such as YouTube and TikTok are a category of
videos known as “POV” (point-of-view) videos, which seek to place the viewer into the perspective of
the video’s creator (i.e. through a wearable camera) or into hypothetical scenario crafted by the creator
for the purposes of humor (i.e. memes). My research has lead me to discover a fascinating niche of
POV videos which, for the purposes of this article, I will name “occupational POV’s” and which
constitute the former example presented above, that being of being placed into the perspective of the
video’s creator. In this article I will share four examples of how these videos can be informative as well
as entertaining for viewers, and can provide invaluable, inexpensive promotional material for
businesses and individuals.
